Part of the point of horror novels, I think, is to let readers explore fear in a space safely removed from reality. If you've picked up one of my books, you're probably expecting to be unsettled, scared, or otherwise disturbed - and I hope you will be!
But we all have a line past which, for whatever reason, things get too close to home.
